Tackling Yeast Breads-Week 5 of Pastry and Baking at Grossmont College.

Well, we've all got our proper uniforms now, and we've had a go at piping, made banana cake and cookies, chiffon cake and delicious biscuits and this week we tackled yeast breads.

The class of 35 is split into 5 teams of 7 and I've really been lucky with my team, we all seem to work together really well, I'm probably the oldest but we all have strengths and weaknesses, we're working together as a team, and teaching each other when we're confused or having trouble.

This week we made pizza dough, and we kneaded it ourselves, crikey thats quite hard work!! We then made dinner rolls. They delicious, so cute and easy to make that I'm definitely going to make an effort to make more of this kind of stuff.

Hi Jenny - I finally found your blog through the Daring Bakers! You're going to have so much fun in this class with Chef Foran. Isn't that banana cake great? I think my husband just threw some soft bananas away, I'll have to yell at him for that. Hope you are enjoying it!
